Shall we dance?

Sophie set up all her figurines to dance together. I thought it was interesting and cute.

Ballet class

Sophie started ballet/tumbling for a short summer session. She loves it! We signed her up for ballet/tap to start in the fall too.

Pool

The girls and I ventured to the pool a week or so ago. I was a little nervous taking them by myself but it was just fine. Ava loved being in her float and Sophie was clingy, which was fine with me, and she liked the baby pool.

Ava had her nine month check-up and she weighed 19 lbs. 3 oz. and was 27 3/4 in. tall and in great health. Sophie didn't weigh that much til she was a year old and Sophie was taller at nine months.

Ava is still not crawling. She does like stand up and hold on to things. Although she doesn't really crawl she still manages to get around by kind of scooting. It is hard to explain how she does it but I can put her down in one place and a minute later she has moved to the other side of the room. Sophie was already crawling and cruising around furniture by this age. I guess second children can be slower. Ava loves watching and laughing at Sophie and she loves playing with toys on the floor. She also babbles all the time. She loves her mommy too and won't let anyone else hold her. She is such sweetie.

First Haircut

Sophie had her first haircut about a week ago and it turned out really cute. I couldn't get over how much older it made her look.

Princesses

It's all about princesses in this house lately. Sophie dresses up at least once a day in her princess gear.

Here she is in front of her new wall decal of Cinderella's castle. Ava couldn't care less about the whole princess thing but she looks cute dressed up. Nathan put that outfit on her. Being the all male sports fanatic that he is, he's still great about doing girly things with our girls.

Reading to baby

We went to the library the other day for the first time in quite a while. Sophie really enjoyed picking out books and sitting at the table to read them. I also found out the library has separate story times for babies and toddlers. We'll definitely be checking that out.

Here is Sophie reading to her baby. Sophie enjoys being read to but she especially likes reading to us, making up the story or reciting her books from memory.
